Since the establishment of Trafton & Matzen in 1950 by Willis A. Trafton, Jr. and L. Damon Scales, Jr., the firm has maintained a general practice with an emphasis on commercial, corporate, zoning and land use, administrative, real estate and probate matters. The firm represents small businesses, individuals, corporations and commercial lenders throughout the State of Maine. Throughout its history, the members of the firm have been involved with the community. Among the firm members have been a candidate for Governor of Maine, the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, a Maine State Senator, two Auburn Mayors, and four Auburn City Councilors. Two members of the firm have been appointed to the bench. The firm is dedicated to having good individual relationships with its clients while providing to those clients the best legal representation.
