The Body Mechanic, also known as Thomas Wells, is a respected bodyworker, personal trainer and sports massage therapist in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California. He uses active release technique and other rehabilitative modalities to help improve his patients' mobility and quality of life. Thomas' general approach consists of four elements: First, he use cutting-edge assessment techniques such as Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and others to determine the nature of the dysfunction. Second, he restores normal movement of the tissues using a structural modality such as Active Release Technieque® (ART®). Third, he restores normal function to the tissues using neurological techniques such as Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex® (P-DTR®) or NeuroKinetic Therapy® (NKT®). Last, he prescribes corrective exercises to restore full strength and continue and reinforce the improvements gained during the session.
