An irrigation system is a series of pipes, valves and sprinklers that deliver water to different areas of your landscape based on a schedule you set up. These systems can be as simple as one or two zones with a single valve controlling them, or they may cover multiple areas such as a front yard and back yard. The more valves in an irrigation system, the more complicated it becomes. The sprinkler head has a valve that opens when the timer sends a signal and closes when the timer sends another signal. When this happens, water flows through the pipe until it reaches the sprinkler head, which sprays water onto your lawn or garden.
