French Crepes originated in Brittany, France, where they were first called Krampouezch (ancient word for crepes). In the beginning crepes were made with sweet fillings, mainly as desserts or snacks, like the Crepe Suzette. As crepes later evolved, they began to include a variety of meats, fish, vegetables and cheeses. Today, crepes are enjoyed all over France at any time of the day.
