For 50 years, the Creative Arts Center of Dallas (CAC) has provided first class arts instruction to all levels of students, from teenagers to senior citizens. CAC's nurtures a community where people discover, develop, and express their artistic vision. Founded by Mexican-American artist Octavio Medellin, the art school has deep roots in the community and its goal is to become one of the foremost visual arts education facilities and community arts organizations in North Texas. CAC employs more than 40 instructors who are locally and nationally known professional artists and now offers more than 500 classes and workshops per year to 1,500 students. Course offerings include: art welding, clay sculpture, ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, mosaic, painting, photography, printmaking and stone carving.
