Construction experience spans the years from 1973 to the present, including: remodeling and residential construction in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Oregon. John Fries Construction, in Sarasota Florida since 1984, has completed a mixture of both residential and commercial remodeling, insurance restoration, and several custom homes. The first Florida Contractor's license was received in 1984 and the roofing license was received in 1985. From 1985 -2000, roofing accounted for about 1/3 of our construction business. Although we are no longer active roofing contractors, that experience has proved valuable for the building envelope issues and moisture intrusion inspections that have become a part of the current water damage business. John has been a member of the board of directors of the Home Builders Association of Sarasota County, the Remodeler's Council Chairman, and a past member of the executive committee of the Florida State Remodelers Council. As the company has become increasingly focused on structural drying and damage restoration; the name was changed in August of 2001, to Accutech Restoration & Remodeling, Inc. In 2010, the federal government, through the EPA, began a Lead remediation training and certification program. The State of Florida also began mandatory mold remediation certification. John Fries is now a certified Mold Remediator, licensed by the state of Florida, along with completion of the EPA lead remediation training.
